Minimum wage in Mozambique

Mozambique sets no single general rate: 17 rule(s) apply by sector, employer or region (table below).

No single national minimum wage: sectoral minimum wages (salários mínimos) are set annually by the Council of Ministers on the Labour Consultative Commission's (CCT) advice, in meticais (MZN) per month. The 2026 round was approved on 28 April 2026 with effect from 1 April 2026 (7,072.00 in agriculture up to 20,361.43 for banks and insurers). The public service minimum (8,758.00 MZN, fixed in 2022 by the single pay scale) and the kapenta fishing subsector (4,991.09 MZN) were left unchanged; they are not published because the source gives no start date.
