Minimum wage in Uganda
Uganda has no general statutory minimum wage. Pay floors come from collective agreements or sector rules; see the notes and any sector rows below.
No enforceable minimum wage. The only figure is UGX 6,000 per month recommended by the Minimum Wages Advisory Board in 1984 and never revised; it is obsolete and not applied. The Minimum Wages Advisory Boards and Wages Councils Act (Cap. 221) lets the Minister set sector wages on board advice, but no current order exists. Parliament passed the Minimum Wages Bill 2015 in 2019; the President did not assent. No row is published.
