Frecuencia de pago
Employers must pay wages at least in monthly, semimonthly or biweekly installments on regular paydays designated in advance, no more than 12 days (excluding Sundays and legal holidays) after the end of the pay period.

An employer shall pay all wages due its employees, less any lawful deductions specified in section 91A .5 , at least in monthly , semimonthly , or biweekly installments on regular paydays which are at consistent intervals from each other and which are designated in advance by the employer . However , if any of these wages due its employees are determined on a commission basis, the employer may , upon agreement with the employee, pay only a credit against such wages. If such credit is paid, the employer shall, at regular intervals, pay any difference between a credit paid against wages determined on a commission basis and such wages actually earned on a commission basis. These regular intervals shall not be separated by more than twelve months. A regular payday shall not be more than twelve days, excluding Sundays and legal holidays, after the end of the period in which the wages were earned.

Minors under 16 may work only between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. (11 p.m. from June 1 through Labor Day), at most 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week, and at most 6 hours a day and 28 hours a week while school is in session, with a break of at least 30 minutes when working 5 hours or more. (minors under 16)

A person under sixteen years of age shall not be employed with or without compensation, except as provided in sections 92.5 and 92.6A , before the hour of 7:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m., except during the period from June 1 through Labor Day when the hours may be extended to 11:00 p.m. If such person is employed for a period of five hours or more each day , an intermission of not less than thirty minutes shall be given. Such a person shall not be employed for more than eight hours in one day , exclusive of intermission, and shall not be employed for more than forty hours in one week. The hours of work of persons under sixteen years of age employed outside school hours shall not exceed six in one day or twenty -eight in one week while school is in session.

Covered non-exempt employees must be paid at least 1.5 times their regular rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek; federal law sets no daily overtime and no weekend or holiday premium. (non-exempt employees covered by the FLSA)

Iowa Code § 91D.1: state rate since January 1, 2008, with a lower initial-employment rate for the first 90 calendar days. Most retail and service establishments grossing under $300,000 a year are not covered (federal rules apply). No scheduled increase. State and local minimum wages above the state rate are preempted (2017 Iowa Acts, H.F. 295).
