  1. Australia

Australia sets 2 rules of its own.

Notes on this jurisdiction's rules and sources

National Minimum Wage set each year by the Fair Work Commission's Annual Wage Review (Fair Work Act 2009 s.285) in a National Minimum Wage Order, operative from the first full pay period on or after 1 July. The order states a weekly figure (38-hour week) and an hourly figure; both are published as separate rows (AUD). The national minimum wage applies only to award/agreement free employees; most employees are covered by one of about 120 modern awards whose minimum rates are higher and are not in this dataset. Casual employees get a casual loading on top (21 per cent in 2010, rising one point a year to 25 per cent from 2014). Junior employees get a percentage of the national minimum wage by age, apprentices and trainees get Miscellaneous Award rates, and employees with a disability get special national minimum wages 1 and 2 (supported wage system); these are percentages or cross-references, not published as rows. History starts with the first Fair Work Act order (1 July 2010); the 2009 Australian Fair Pay Commission decision froze the federal minimum wage and is not published.
