Notes on this jurisdiction's rules and sources

G.O.Ms.No.6 (LET&F Department) dated 30.05.2026, issued under sections 6 to 8 of the Code on Wages, 2019, replaced all earlier Minimum Wages Act, 1948 notifications with one schedule of basic monthly minimum wages for all establishments with effect from 1 June 2026 (subject to pending writ petitions before the High Court), in four skill bands (unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, highly skilled) and three zones (Zone I municipal corporations, Zone II municipalities, Zone III rural and other areas). The basic rates are linked to CPI at 443 points (2001=100); the Commissioner of Labour notifies a cost of living allowance (Rs.33.86 per point per month) every 1 April and 1 October. Where existing notified wages were higher, they rise by 10%. Piece-rated employments (power looms, garments, spinning, brick kilns, beedi, handlooms) are fixed separately. Daily wage = monthly / 26. Before June 2026 Telangana set basic rates plus VDA separately for about 73 scheduled employments.
