National Minimum Wage Regulations 2017 under the National Wage Consultative Council Act 2016, monthly, reviewed each 1 January. Rs 8,140 from 1 January 2018; from 2020 two tiers (export enterprises Rs 9,000, others Rs 9,700), revised each January to Rs 9,375 / Rs 10,075 in 2021, Rs 9,875 / Rs 10,575 in 2022 and Rs 10,875 / Rs 11,575 in 2023; single rate for all full-time workers from 1 January 2024 (Rs 16,500), Rs 17,110 from 1 January 2025 and Rs 17,745 from 1 January 2026 (National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Regulations 2026, GN No. 8 of 2026). Part-time workers are paid pro rata under a formula in the Schedule.
