Notes on this jurisdiction's rules and sources

National minimum wage set by notification of the National Committee for Minimum Wage (Minimum Wages Law 2013): 600 kyat per hour / 4,800 kyat per 8-hour day since 14 May 2018 (Notification 2/2018), for enterprises with 10 or more workers (businesses with fewer than 10 workers and family businesses excluded). The rate itself has not been revised since; instead the Committee added a daily allowance paid on top of it: 1,000 kyat from 1 Oct 2023 (Notification 2/2023), a further 1,000 kyat (Notification 1/2024 of 8 Aug 2024) and a further 1,000 kyat from 1 Oct 2025 (Notification 1/2025), 3,000 kyat per day in total.
