Notes on this jurisdiction's rules and sources
National minimum wage per month under the National Minimum Wage Act: N18,000 (2011 Amendment Act), N30,000 (2019 Act, from 18 April 2019), N70,000 (National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Act 2024, assented 29 July 2024; review period shortened to three years). The Act does not apply to part-time, commission and piece-rate workers, seasonal workers such as in agriculture, or establishments employing fewer than 25 persons. Several state governments pay their own public servants more (e.g. Rivers N85,000, Enugu and Niger N80,000, announced October 2024).
