Notes on this jurisdiction's rules and sources

National Living Wage (NLW) and age-banded National Minimum Wage (NMW) rates, uprated each 1 April (each 1 October until 2015). The NLW age threshold was 25 (Apr 2016-Mar 2021), 23 (Apr 2021-Mar 2024) and 21 since 1 April 2024; before April 2016 the adult rate applied from 22 (to Sep 2010) then 21. The standard row is the top adult rate (NLW since April 2016); lower adult bands are youth rows. Applies in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. No April 2027 rate had been announced on 2026-09-26 (LPC recommends in October).
