Retribuição mínima mensal garantida (RMMG) set each year by decree-law under art. 273 of the Código do Trabalho; monthly amount paid 14 times a year (holiday and Christmas subsidies). The autonomous regions set their own higher floors: the Azores add a regional supplement to the national RMMG, and Madeira fixes its own RMMG by regional legislative decree (child jurisdictions pt-azores and pt-madeira).
