India sets 4 rules of its own.

Notes on this jurisdiction's rules and sources

India has no single general minimum wage. The central government sets rates for scheduled employments in the central sphere (Chief Labour Commissioner, revised by variable dearness allowance every April 1 and October 1) and a non-statutory National Floor Level Minimum Wage; each state notifies its own rates by scheduled employment, skill band and often zone. The Code on Wages, 2019 (in force from November 21, 2025) replaces the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 and provides for a statutory floor wage. State rates are in child jurisdictions in-{state}.
